I used to get up in the morning to watch it during school holidays about 30 years ago but not seen or heard of it since.

it was not a cartoon that was made later .The one i used to watch was a real dog and a little boy.

It was on Nickelodeon from 1984 - 1990.
Once I saw the photo, I did recogize it.
