Your mate is young hopefully he wont become attached and get hurt as the 36year old is probably after young meat as they say
You cant do much about it just be there for him let him no if he needs to chat your his mate an you are there. Before time they will realise the age difference is a problem your mate will want some one his age tho your friend may have to be careful as the older guy may not be to happy.

Attraction is a strange thing. People are attracted to others for a number of reasons. I'm guessing with that doubled age difference, it won't be long before they discover they are at different stages of their lives and not really suitable long term.
In the interim, support your friend and don't be too worried (unless the older guy starts treating your friend badly, then speak up).

A 36 and a 19 year old! Come on! They are at totally different life stages.
If they're looking for casual fun then fine; but if it becomes more serious I'd be worried.
In my opinion, a nineteen year old shouldn't be looking for anyone older than 24 and a thirty-six year old shouldn't be looking for anyone younger than 25.

I think it is none of your business.
If he is happy that is all that matters. Many heterosexual relationships have one partner quite a bit older than the other & no-one seems to mind that. Why should this be any different?
Say nothing & keep a friend or stick your nose in & lose one.

It really is his business .. however .. as his best friend you should talk to him about your feelings .. if your friendship is strong he will appreciate your concern, understand it is only because you care and make his decision based on that.
It is a risk .. you could upset him .. but if you have genuine concerns for him then I dont think as a friend you can stand by and say nothing.

Just be there for him. He'll probably learn a lot from an older guy which a straight friend can't teach him. If they split or whatever just support him and keep an eye on him.

Let him make his own mistakes just be a friend if it breaks down!
I have had affairs with 37/38 year old women. If you don't know the fella (36 y/o) you can't judge, he could be a sound guy!

i hav a friend who was 18 and her man was 30 now at 24 and 36 they're still together, engaged with a baby on the way. age is not a big deal, theres 8 yrs between me and my fella. your friend needs to learn from his own mistakes and they will only make him stronger.

You have answered your own question, you are his friend, no matter what happens...It is a shock when you find out someone is gay, however, if you are a true friend it doesnt matter.....Just be there for him if it does go wrong!
