In social situations where other people around me are smoking, I crave cigarettes a lot.

I quit 4 years ago and most of the time I don't miss it at all. Especially when I smell it on other people and think..."OMG I used to smell like that!". But Every couple of months all of a sudden and out of the blue I want to smoke. Sometimes the feeling only lasts for a minute but it's a tough minute! My husband is even worse if he sees someone smoking he feels like he wants to smoke again. But somehow we stay smoke free. It's tough but it's worth it.

After I quit about 20 years ago, the smell of cigarette smoke has become very offensive. Not because it's a temptation; I just can't stand the smell of it any more. I don't even want to have someone around me who has been smoking. It really is a nasty, filthy habit. I'm glad I quit when I did.

I recently gave up alcohol and recreational drugs. May 14 2006 I still smoke and I'm in the process of weening my self down. September 15 2006 I have a Dr. appointment to discuss the best method for me to quit smoking (i'm in A.A.)

I quit 7 years ago when I became pregnant with my first child. She was reason enough for me to quit and personally I've never felt like doing it ever again. I can't stand it when people smoke around me and I have to smell it. It's like dying a slow death. I hate the smell and resent people who let their smoke blow anywhere in my direction. I don't know how or why I ever started in the first place...YUCK!

I have been off the fags for 10 weeks yesterday.
And unfortunately yes i still crave but not as bad it comes and goes away a lot quicker than the first few weeks.
i have been told the cravings still come after 3 or more years but hey 10 weeks im not going back if you can do 1 week make it 2 then make it 4.
You go for it i have no willpower and i can do it so can you .
Good luck.

I quit after 22 years and haven't had a smoke in 13 years. No desire after the first couple of months.

I quit, then started then quit then started.........

When I quit I usually quit for a few years (the shortest time being 10 months) then start back up for a period of time. However when I did quit, the urge would be there, in times of stress the urge is much stronger.

Eventually I won't start again the next time I quit.

I hope.
