Vince Young is a great athlete and he is one of my fave players but since the Titans have Norm Chow Leinart's offensive cordinator from USC as their offensive cordinator now, wouldn`t the obvious pick for them been Leinart?

yeah vince young didnt play in an option style offense at Texas, just because a QB is athletic dont mean they played in an option style offense in college. i dont think Mike Vick did per say.

Steve Mcnair was a mobile QB, that's what the offensive scheme the Titan's have is set up for. Leinart isn't a mobile QB, so yes, they made the right pick with Vince Young. Vince Young is ten-times more talented than Leinart is. Leinart's just the product of a good college system, nothing more. Carson Palmer was a way better QB than Leinart at Southern Cal.

also-hair_of_a_dog-you're wrong. Texas ran the spread option. It's totally different than the option. It's a shotgun based offense where he reads the defense and makes his decision after the snap as to what he will do, hand off or run it himself.

Vince young is a project so yes taking him with the 3rd pick in the draft when your team is in need of everything was the wrong thing to do. Matt Leinart is by far the best QB to come along in a while. This man has done nothing but win, yes the NFL is faster then college but remember Pat Carroll coached in the pros he runs a pro offense at USC and Leinart is perfect for being able to play today. Young is an option QB and the last time I checked the NFL doesn’t run the option. So not only is Young going to have to learn a new offense and a new style, but going to have to learn to throw the football which I don’t think he can from the game films I’ve seen. I think Young should have stayed in college another year improved his skills more and geared himself to be better suited for the pros. He could actually be the best player in the draft but when you need help now you could be in trouble.

I think they did Vince Young is a long way away from being a good NFL QB. He cant read a defense yet and he has a bad throwning motion. He can run a little bit but he is not fast enough to make that much of a an impact. Matt Leinart would have been a much better pick.

no cuz of SPEED. see in the NFL the level of play is way faster than college. Defensive tackles can run down quarterbacks and Norm Chow knows this and so by taking a more versatile and speedy Vince Young the Titans might not have to worry if Young is being chased. Leinhart is too slow and doesnt have a quick enough release. im not hating on Leinhart hes a great player but its still too early. we'll just have to wait and see.

One would think. I agree but Young probably has a better throwing arm. Leinarts arm is more akin Chad Penningtons arm.

They made a big mistake and were very callous in the way they handled Steve McNair. After that how many free agents will want to play for them.
