Currently my husband and I have decided to start trying for another child. Our first daughter wasn't planned so she was a nice surprise.
My periods are regular and I am on a 21 day cycle.
I finished my period on Thursday 10th August and we had sex on the Saturday, Tuesday, but not yesterday (we are having sex tonight to make up for missing yesterday).
My period is due on Thursday 31st August (exactly 21 days from my last period finishing).
I have a feeling that my ovulation day may have been today just by looking at charts, however they are all based on a 28 day cycle.
Would this mean that I have missed conception, or am I at the exact time to conceive?
Any help would be appreciated.

If your periods come again 21 days after the end of your cycle, you DO NOT have a 21 day cycle at all and may be missing your ovulation times by several days.

You need to count from the FIRST day of your menstrual cycle to the FIRST day of your next period. In other words, add the number of days your period lasts to the 21 and use that number for your charts. If your periods last 5 days, you have a 26 day cycle, for example.

A better way still is to use an ovulation test kit, learn to understand the changes in your cervical mucus and/or take a basal temperature reading every day before getting out of bed and chart the spike. Plan intercourse for the day before ovulation is expect and for the next two days. (But having sex more often is still fun, ovulation or not!)

It would have been nice if whoever gave you the charts had explained better how to use them. Good luck!

I did years of infertility treatment and conceived 2 children this way.
The way these Dr.'s count is backwards. If you have your period on August 31st than you count back 14 days and that is when you ovulated.
I was told no matter how long your cycle is you should always have your period 14 days after you ovulate.
If your very regular than this is very easy to figure out.
Just counting on my fingers you should ovulate on Aug 18th. I'd recount that, but that's how that works.
Also during these treatments we were told to start a few days before ovulation and a few days after. We were also told to have sex every other day so the sperm count can recover.
Good luck

Use this!! I used it and now I'm pregnant. It's called an online pregnancy test. You just put in the number of days in your cycle and the first date of your last menstrual period and the day you had sex, and wallah, it'll tell you how likely you are to get pregnant on that day, and when you're ovulation day. The day that I got pregnant, it said I had a 26% chance. Here's the link:

Stop Calculating.
Its Better if you enjoy the sex rathar then worry about conceiving.
You have had a child, so you and your husband are completely capable of having kids......why worry then. If not this month, then probably next month.....it sure will happen.

when u ovulate the egg gets implanted in the womb. The egg sheds its cover a jelly like transparent substance passed out as a secretion through the vagina. This is the best time to mate.
