You intered into Iraq mainly because of oil. How do you explain then these high prices of oil in your country? When Sadam was in power the oil prices were much lower.

One man, one answer. President Bush. After we won the war in Iraq. Bush was able to get a franchise on every barrel of oil sold in the U.S. I think he makes 30% on every barrel sold. This would account for the 30% increase in oil prices today.

Well , America went into iraq for oil--- not true. Yes it was indeed necessary for America to get Saddam down from power, becuase American economy was going to collapse. Huh , You might be surprised now, Sadam in power= collapse of American Economy!!!!. Ok let me explain. Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia produces more than 60% of the world Oil. The transactions in oil industry is done in American Dollars, thus it is known as petro dollars. Now, Iraq(Saddam) and Saudi Arabia was planning to change their oil transactions into Euros, ( petro Euros) Which will eventually followed by other oil producing countries and anti American countires and thereby the dollar will not even have the value of the paper it is printed on. Thus it was inevitable for US to stop this happening, US spent 317 Billion dollars in Iraq, but that is not even 2% of the loss that America would have suffered if dollar lost its value. Taking liqud oil for a war torn country , in which other countries soldiers also presesent , is not feasible. (dONT BOTHER ABOUT SPELLING AND GRAMMER, I DONT GET TIME CHECKING IT, GENIUS ARE ALWAYS AT WORK!!!1)

Wow, how many ways could you go wrong in one statement.

We entered into Iraq because we thought they had WMD's. This has been proven to be incorrect, so the mission changed to "bringing democracy" to Iraqis.

The high price of oil doesn't only affect America, it affects the whole world. It is mainly to do with supply and demand. There's not enough oil to go around, so the price goes up.

Even if the Iraq invasion was supposed to lower the price of oil (I can't see how anyone could draw that conclusion, considering everyone in power profits from higher oil prices, not lower), obviously the mission has been botched. Screwing up is always a possibility.

Addendum: You know what, as an american, I welcome the higher prices, I hope they stay high, in fact, I hope they go even higher. You know why? Because only through high prices will businesses be spurred to aggressively fund alternative energy sources. Then we can finally not be held hostage by theocracies in the mid-east. Yeah, it will suck for a while, but we americans always deal and we always innovate our way out of sticky situations. Capitalism demands it.

The premise of your question is wrong. The war in Iraq has never been about oil. I know it is difficult for people from countries where control of the individual is historically and culturally the norm to understand, but it is a matter of instituting democracy in a country which supported those who would harm the United States.

The United States doesn’t need the oil from Iraq and in a few years will not need any energy from outside of its borders.

It is interesting that although a constitution has been written and instituted and a government elected, there are those who cannot abide for the people to make their own decision and want a theocracy to control the people, how sad.

The price of oil is unrelated to the war and will continue to rise. With diminishing supplies, labor and material costs, the price will be double within a short time and the ones that will suffer the most will be other less developed nations.

If America went to Iraq for oil they would also be in Iran, and oil would cost 10cents a gallon. Not a bad idea though. Keep up the good work!

I am only interested in bringing our kids home. Not many Americans are very supportive of the war. The majority right now believes that Bush lied to the American public to justify the war.

Most though will say we wanted Sadaam ousted from power, but he was just an acceptable target because Bush can't catch Osama.

You're incorrect. It wasn't oil, it was more of a revenge thing. Iran is next.
