Holmes County Ohio is a good place. It is easy to live in an Amish community. But living with the Amish in their way might be hard. I would start by staying at a B&B in Charm, Ohio and slowly getting to know the local people. The people there are very friendly.

Amish communities thrive throughout middle Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Amish communities are closed to outsiders, except through tours, and gatherings, as they still believe in old western ways, horse drawn buggies, no electricty, etc, etc, my recommendation is if you want to spend a glorius vacation in some city, that you visit Orlando, Florida, unless of course you were looking for the singles&dating section, then you would find that under Family Relationships. You'd have to first be accepted by them, which is something you'd have to ask THEM. Beyond that, you'd also have to be completely willing to give up all modern technology for the duration of your stay, if you want to actually stay within the community.

If you just want to vacation in the area NEAR them and visit, that is certainly possible. My sister has visited down into Amish country a few times (in Pennsylvania), and enjoyed it immensely. She stayed in a hotel outside of the actual communties she was visiting, though.

There are bed and breakfasts close to the Amish community in PA. You can have a meal with them, and perhaps then they could help you further...

There was that moving "Witness" with Harrison Ford. I don't think the Amish have a "bed and breakfast".
