Causes of cervical cancer
A precise cause is unknown, but the risk factors include early age at first intercourse, multiple sexula partners, and promiscuous male sexual partners, esp. those whose previous partners had cervical cancer. It is suspected that an oncogenic factor, probably a virus, is transmiltted sexually. The human papiloma virus is thought to be an important factor.
In the past, it was thought that cervical cancer did not occur in celibate women, such as nuns. There is a little evidence to support this. This is little evidence to support this. Therefore, when a celibate woman has symptoms suggesting cervical cancer, that diagnosis shud be considered....

Even Scientists can only offer educated guesses. Smoking an unprotected sex are leading suspicions but there are certainly virgin non-smokers who have gotten cervical cancer.

There is a virus that causes it. Papaloma virus, or something like that. It's caused by a venereal disease. First you can get aids, and now you can get cancer. Sex is so bad! Especially on tv! I keep falling off!!
Safe sex all the way. No more "doing it" on plywood scaffolding!! no way!!

Human Papilloma Virus strains 16,18,31,33,56 and a lot more of subtypes, but these are the common culprit.

The main cause is HPV---the Human Papilloma (sp?) virus. Its the virus that causes genital warts.
