i was told i could go into a hotel and probably use there system but they may have a password. can you open it up anywhere and pluck the signal out of cyber space.

If you have a wireless modem then that's all your will need. A lot of hotels now have wireless networks and you pay per hour or 24hr period.

Make sure you also have the correct connector for whatever type of power socket is used in your hotel, US, UK and European sockets are different and use different voltages you made need an adaptor, as well as a telephone or ethernet cable. Make sure you have the correct bits before you travel as buying cables etc can be very expensive in some countries.

depends in which hotel you are in, some hotels have LAN plugs in the rooms, which you can connect your laptop to it, someothers have a Wireless connection that cover rooms or loppy or both,

in some cases, they may not have any thing of above thus you may need to use dialup internet or use the cyber cafe in that hotel
