one acre is 43560 square feet
if you wanted a perfect sqaure acre, it would be 208.71x208.71 ft
but you could make it any shape that you wanted to
if you want 1/8 acre, it is 5445 square feet
if you want a perfect square, it should be 73.79x73.79 ft
but you can make this be any shape you want also.

1 acre = 4046.86 m^2
1/8 acre= 505.86 m^2
1. if u need to mark out a square plot,
squareroot of 505.86 m^2 = 22.491m
each side must be 22.491 m
2. If its a rectangular plot u need,
area = length (l) x width (w)= 505.86 m^2
for any given length or width, divide
(505.86 / length or width) = other side
3. For shapes other than square/ rectangular,
u need to specify and calculate. The area will remainsame, ie 505.86 m^2

It's not clear if you want a square area.
This procedure will cater for both rectangular and square areas.
It may be easy for you to understand this if you draw a picture of this.
If the area is square, divide both the length and width into four equal parts. Draw these horizontal and vertical lines.
Now the area is divide into sixteen parts. Two or these parts is equal to an 1/8. Taking two adjacent parts will give you a rectangular shape this area being 1/8.
To convert this into a square:
Observe that this rectangular shape is twice the length as it's width. Hence, it's parameter is 6 units in length and each side of the square is equal in length.
(length * breath)(unit length) = Area of required surface.
Square root of this surface area gives one side of the distance for the square.
It's as simply as that, good luck.

1 acre = 4046.86 square metres.
1/8 acre = 0.125 acre = 505.8575 square metres
Assuming a square area, the lengths of the side are the square root of 505.8575 square metres = 22.491276 metres
Let's round it up to 22.5 metres!
So you need to mark out an area of 22.5 metres by 22.5 metres.
If you want to go back to imperial, then 1 metre = 3.2808 feet.
The equivalent in feet is 73.8' by 73.8' (i.e. 5446 sq. ft).
If the area you want is not a square you'll have to vary the lengths of each side, but obviously keep the overall area the same!
