Well, you can't say that everybody likes Buddha. Many people follow his philosophy 'cos it's anthropological unlike many other teachings. He was an ordinary man with a lot of personality and good looks, like many Indians from the northern part of India is

I love my household Buddha, he has been with me since childhood, he is wise, smiling and enligtening; quite beautiful he is, just over a foot tall, round and his belly rubbed to a beautiful sheen for all my pats, wishes and good luck. I respect and enjoy the symbols and histories of many religions.

No offense, I am half chinese and my other relatives believe in Buddha, but i am 100 percent Catholic. Tell you what being a buddhist is NOTHING to be proud of. Buddha is like a devil trust me. If only people really know how it looks like. Some people think that buddhism is great but no, it's just not. That's according to lots of experience..

It's a mind thing - cult. that's all - brainwash, not a god,
just a fat statue - that means nothing. There are many
chinese people that long to read the Bible, not allowed in the
country to do so, no freedom of religion - just stare at
some obesed man.

because he was fantastic. he lived his life unconventionally but that way of life has now become a popular religion. he didn't tell anyone they should try it - they could see for themselves. that's how cool he is.
