how long does it usually take for consoles to dope in prices?

Well assuming you mean "drop" in price as opposed to "dope" in price. They usually drop slightly in price during the holiday season. They will also drop drastically when the next generation of the consoles are released. I would look for the cost of the Xbox and the PS2 to begin dropping in price after the PS3 releases. With the over inflated cost of the PS3 I'd expect the 360 will drop a few bucks as well, might be the best time to get one of those!!!!
