How to cope up with solidarity?

I have just broke up with my relationship with my bf. I work and live in foreign country which English isn't widely spoken. It seems hard to find a friend in this country. I am alone and no one to go out with I have done shopping too many times, salon etc. it's monotonous for me now. Would I just sit in my computer as my outlet on the week ends or is it demeaning if a female like me would go to a decent bar alone just to socialize but I'm afraid that strangers (men) might misinterpret me. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks

It is difficult to tell how the local culture would accept a single woman in a bar, since you didn't say where you are.

However here are some suggestions:

1 Enroll in classes to learn the local languages.
2 Start attending an English speaking church, if there are any.
3 Try volunteer work for English speaking NGO's
