It involves four main things (if I remember correctly)

1) instruction on basic riding the bike

2) demonstrating that you can ride a bike off road (on a playground or car park, around a circuit of cones). You practice the basics of machine control, pulling away, changing gear, signalling, manoeuvring and stopping safely

3) instruction on basic road riding

4) demonstrating that you can ride on the road with suitable safety. (doing all the basic signalling/observation/bike control)

If you go to a good training centre, they should be able to talk to you about it all beforehand. So long as you listen to the instructors and take it sensibly, I doubt you'll fail.

Good luck and safe riding!

it is really easy .. they show you a few videos in which you have to point out potencial dangers. Then you ride around the car park for a couple of hours practising manouvers, starting and stoping and all that.then you go out on the road ,the instructor is on a microphone and you have an earpiece and he tells you where to go and what to do. I actually enjoyed it and the instructor was really nice .i dont know anybody who has failed.
