Well this is debatable, for all intents and purposes, the CN Tower is that a Tower, it is not actually a building that contain offices. The CN Tower measures 1,815 ft as compared to the tallest building currently is the Taipei 101 which stands at 1,670 ft.

So CN Tower may qualify as the tallest man-made structure, but whether it can be called a building is open for discussion.

Yes.

The Taipei 101 and the Petronas Towers are the tallest OCCUPIED buildings in the world. The CN tower is a transmission tower, AKA a giant radio antenna.

CN Tower doesn't qualify as a building. It doesn't really have floors, not sure if that's why. I always heard it was the tallest "free-standing structure" (that was before the Petronas Towers though). I think the Petronas Towers might count as a "building" but NOT as "free-standing". I have no idea of their relative heights.

YA.. wiki is right.. CN Tower is the world's tallest freestanding structure on land. technically its not a building thou.
