well, i assume u r using Win XP.
Go to:
1) Start > Settings > Taskbar and Start menu >
2) Select the Start Menu tab on top (second to the Taskbar tag)
3) Click on Customize button at the bottom right
4) Press the Clear button (shown next to the Recycle bin)
This will clear all the link urls from your address bar and also all your reference to the recent documents as well (in case you rely on the recent history too much - it is a problem).

Open Internet Explorer. Click on History Button. All the sites you hae visited will be displayed. Right click on the site you want to delete and then click delete. By this process you can delete the sites one by one

You have to open the history folder in IE or in The User Folder. In IE, point your mouse on the link and right click, the menu will appear....choose delete from that.

In IE (I don't have Firefox, but there's something similar on it) open history (It's the green hourglass on the toolbar...scroll down the list and delete the ones you don't want to keep)
