it depends on the severity the type and how fast the cancer was caught? her doctor would have told her all of this and her chances of recovery. it really depends on the individual . you will have to ask her

sorry to hear that, my uncle died of lung cancer, he dies a year after he was diagnosed, he was a heavy smoker. It all depends how advanced was the cancer when it was diagnosed. good luck to her and be God with her through this hard time.
