I cannot help much because I do not have much income and I am unemployed. Should I help people that need help with what I can do and can donate, even a little?

My opinion and act is to give directions, rather than material goods! In other words: Better to teach someone to fish, rather than giving him a fish!
Also, if we give donations and this is enough for someone to survive, we hurt him/ her/ this very bad, because it/ she/ he will depend on our donation and not try to find a way to prosper!

It is a universal law that when you give freely, you receive. What goes around eventually comes around. There are other ways to help without giving money or things. Material donations are okay, but how about something else?

Medical science has discovered that when a person is the recipient of kindness, the serotonin levels in their brain increase, and their immune systems are strengthened. The same thing happens to the person giving the kindness. Guess what? They also discovered that any third person, who simply witnessed the kindness between the other two had the same reaction. Serotonin is the "feel good" chemical neurotransmitter in the brain.

Too many people are mistreated, ignored, and unappreciated every day. You will notice a big difference in people if you look them in the eyes and smile. Recognize that they exist. The under-paid and under-appreciated convenience store clerk is a good person to start with. Be glad to see him/her. I love to do this and watch the reaction. Sometimes they actually look grateful that another person has noticed them. Your kindness also spreads to others through their happiness and kindness. It is contagious.

There are opportunities to give and help everywhere. Help that elderly man change his flat tire. Tell someone they look nice. If you look for opportunities, you will find them. Your question shows that you genuinely care about others and that is great.
It is a good idea not to expect gratitude. Expect nothing in return. It will be worth it.

Much better to give a smile, or a helping hand ina community project than give material goods.

I knnow this sounds strange but a good example is Bill Gates. Yes he has loads of money. What he has done now is donate his life to charity along with his money. He is becomming a full time activist for his charity and has officialy announced his resignation from lead of Microsoft.

Time and caring is more important than money.

Donate things that you do not use anymore. Keep your money and help out with the things you have laying around the house. You don't only helpout the ones in need but you get a cleaner house.

What ever you give money wise or physical help is counted - there are poorer people in the world who even cannot have access to Internet ! Do not stop what you do - It is not the quantity that matters - it is the thought and the quality that matters !

Good work !

You can help by setting an example for others, its not how much you donate, in the end its the thought that counts....

There is this saying that charity begins at home.
If you have food to eat and a roof over your head yes sure you can share the food you have but if by giving something away you are going to be left with nothing then you are going to be at a disadvantage.

You should not ask yourself if you should give but rather what are you giving. Please do give to the needy, but if you would not want what you are giving why would they? I really do value the fact that you give to other people and hope that your actions encourage more... (keep on doing the good work)
