One can see poor people every where in this world. The Indian condition is slightly exagerated due to the very poor and ill healthy appearance of poor ones are reproduced by the media. Also the poor want to remain as poor only and not interested to develop themselves even they are given a number of options and ooprtunities. This is due to the government's cash sanctions / grants. In case one checks them under microscope, some of them (those poor people) are well off in other places (at far off places from working place) and their families live there happily. Couple people from the family act after wearing costumes of poor. In an un offcial survey it was noticed that some of the poor people are filthy rich and had good investments in real estate and gold.
Poverty line is actually created by our poor politicans to gain the sympathy of out side world, as they think some aids and donations (those unaccounted) will ultimately gets suspended once the concerned foreign authorities found the claim is fake....And Media over blows it to supersize and every one watches and feels unhappy.....
Every year, in the National Budget several Billions of indian Rupees are earmarked and spent for the poor ones development
but nobody knows whether these amounts reach the lowest level or the papers reach the lowest level for their signature!!!!!!!!

One toilet for 1500 people in "Dharvia" a Bombay slum. Also 10 to 15 people living in a single room. As a consequence all drains and lanes are full of feacal matter and so is the humid summer air. The whole place smells like a toilet.
Do not buy the call center crap. The real India lives in the slums of Bombay and Calcutta. India must start using contraception and maybe the night after monkey business to stop the astronomical rise in population. For God sake 1.1 Billion Brownies is enogh to give nightmares to the West.

The dirty politicians.
See Kumaraswamy, the CM of Karnataka, India. He has amassed 150 crores in Mining, several crores in Govt. Officials transfers etc., with in 7 months of his assuming power.
This is only a tip of iceberg. Omprakash choutala, of Haryana has amassed 1400 Crores, JJayalalitha and Mkarunanidhi have looted in the name of helping the poor, RS reddy of AP has several generating stations in Karnataka. Laloo of Bihar did not spare the fodders for the animals. Mulayam is looting UP.
How can then India progress. The poor people will become more poor, but help these scroundals to amass wealth.

Idiot - who told India is a poor country. India is the richest country in the world - Richer than the richest what u believe. The politicians have drawn India as a poor country. U know with the gold our sisters and mothers have we can purchase the US, UK or Japan. U have rich in love parents which an average US man do not have. If you use your land properly u can feed the entire world. If u want to know more - come to me - but never say India is a poor country.

India is a great country of great people but the on-going confrontations & arms race with the neighboring countries is stopping it from the poverty alleviation.
The Indians should vote into power a courageous & spirited leadership to address & resolve the core issues with their neighboring countries specially Pakistan.

Since India achieved independence, and took over their own destiny they are a nation, but faced with a growing population, diminishing agricultural land, pompous politicians that enjoy relative luxury and relish in rhetorical debates that lead only to inactivity. The economy of India is in a crisis, health costs are mounting, there isn't a welfare system, civil engineering is archaic, the education system relies on quantity not quality because the leaders refuse to implement anything because it is easier to waffle rather than decide.

Extreme economic inequality...
Wealth distribution in India is highly uneven. Azim Premji's (majority shareholder - Wipro) net worth is close to $11b (3 million times indian GDP per capita). That's the reason why we have over 25% people below poverty line, despite us being the 10th largest economy.

After the gang rape by the British, at last she was rescued and handed over to her guardians by some great men. However, the heartless guardians instead of protecting her, they are plundering her mercilessly.
These guardians have four assistants, who also play active role in exploiting her. They are 1) CGS, 2) TL, 3) CI, and the last one is SPG. Unless these guardians and their assistants are not thrown out and severely punished, she will be poor and weak. That day is not too far!!!!
Dictionary:
Guardians=all political parties.
CGS= Corrupted Government Servants.
TL=The looter.
CI= Cinema Industry.
SPG= Self Proclaimed Gods.

The distribution of wealth is not equal.
Using the Gini coefficient, you can determine how the wealth and income is shared.
The top countries are in Scandinavia but India is not too good at spreading its wealth.
Do not think that UK and USA are good at sharing either, whilst UK has the 4th highest GDP, it is 28th for standard of living. So some people have too much money whilst millions have to work their guts out for a pittance - typical!
