I imagine there is, but I am yet to find it. It IS a game of logic, so mathematics outgh to play a role in the solution.

I wrote an Excel spreadsheet which solves every one I've come across so far (9x9 and 16x16). There are some available to download from the 'net.
Sudoku's diverting enough, but it's a bit of a waste of your life to spend 20 minutes doing something a computer can do in 2 seconds. Cryptic crosswords are much better!

No, there is no mathematics involved. It is a purely logical exercise; it would work exactly the same with letters or symbols instead of the numbers.

There no mathematical solution, but once you are confident with the easier ones and move up you will find patterns in the numbers to solve the puzzles.

mostly, the idea, is to poick the rows, or blocks, with the least free spaces, then write in them in pencil what they might be eg 2376
you keep doing this till you find an overlap eg the same block on a different line might be able to b 1896.. then that one is a 6

Use a pencil and a rubber then pen the right one in and so on it is quite relaxing

Actually,there is a bit of maths applied to but don't forget u should also have common sense and a good logic to solve it.

I've heard of this game. I started to buy a book of them, but couldn't figure out what to do quick enough while standing in line so I put it back...are they fun? I love math puzzles.
