It's completely different. But that's the interesting thing about life. You just never know.

I like your question, I find it a rare occasion when i look back at my thinking from child hood and when i do I'm always amazed at the things i remember. As for how does my life match what i thought it would be when i was a child, its not even close. As i can remember i had wanted to be so many different things as a child it would have been impossible to accomplish them all. However if I look back from now to my childhood, I find it amazing that I am where I am today, and I realize that with out my child hood I may be able to still be in the same place I am today, but I would not be the same person that i have grown into. Fantasy was a dominating factor for me as a child so the dreams were far from a reality, although the experiences were real and shaped me as person today. So subconsciously I'm exactly the person I imagined I would be now.

It matches not at all, because I am from the generation where a woman wanted the house with the white picket fence, the dog, the 2.5 kids and the providing husband.

I have non of that (well 2 ex husbands, no kids, no house, no dog) but I am OK with that and I know that I am meant for something different.

I never tried to imagine any details into my future. I remember saying to a friend that I'd like to make a hundred dollars a day when I grow up. His dad over heard this and said that by the time I grew up, that wouldn't be a lot of money.
Well I now do make a hundred dollars for every day I work and it isn't enough to take care of my family.

It's certainly more ME than my life... I'm nothing like I imagined I would become. I feel more like I personally struggle to stay within the confines of my life... which is actually fairly close to what I thought it would be. But it's hard to play the role of the young country club wife when you're a free spirit who has nothing in common with that lifestyle!

Life is like a box of chocolates: - overpriced, fattening, and it leaves a mess behind - but jeez it's yummy!

Seriously, I don't recall imagining anything about my future life when I was a kid. I just assumed it would go on and get better. I think that's what the definition of 'kid' is.

I never imagine it to be like something, just that I would live my life to the fullest or the best I know how. And I think I have done pretty good so far.

Well, I wanted to be a Hollywood actor or a professional sports player when I was a kid, and my childhood expectations were never met. But I am still content with my life.

it is not matching at all, when i was child i wanted to be a doctor, but now I'm an engineer which is far far away from my dream but we have to adapt, many things in the past i used to refuse totally but i had to change my way of thinking not because i found out it is wrong but just for adaptation,

I never imagined for a minute that I would live to 70 - and, then, have a busted up marriage and be retired to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
