Because everyone thinks they have something that everyone wants to hear (or read). I must say that I do too. I plan on writing an autobiography soon about all the stuff I've been lucky enough to survive and my philosophies about life.

I think it's for the satisfaction..Most of the people are not satisfied with the happennings that we hear and see, so with various different experiences and the various views on life, people tend to write books, there will be economical reason also might be there...

1) Gets their thoughts out in the open and share them
2) Money
3) Fame
4) Easy past time hobby, time on their hand with nothing to do
5) Feeling of contributing to the society
6) Leaving a memory of themselves for when they are gone

I guess people just feel like they want to express themselves and with sites like www.lulu.com or www.cafepress.com it's just becoming easier and easier and easier.
