It varies with countries, but usually it is about 115 males to 100 females. However, some cultures, such as India typically abort many female fetuses. This seems to be a natural shift about the ratio as Nature's means to control over-population.

I believe it's difficult to accurately count the numbers.
No one would be able to really go around the world, meet everyone and record their gender. Not every birth is recorded so what we have is just approximation.

That's a very interesting question. Why??
More male babies are born, but as infants they have a higher mortality rate. More female babies are killed in certain countries because a male offspring is considered more important.
