1. Install the driver software provided with the scanner
2. Normally the scan software is provided in the same driver disk.
3. Otherwise you can use microsoft photo editor, photoshop, photopaint, or kodak image viewer provided with windows to scan it.
4. in all these softwares there will be a scan icon - click on it
5. the remaining of the process is self explainatory.
6. The usual format is the TIF(Tagged Image File) but you can use the save as option to save it to any other format.
7." .jpg" files are the smallest for saving images but you may have to compromise on quality a little

u need a scanner to scan pictures. u can place u r picture in that and can scan u r picture to u r computer and can save it in the computer. for that first u need a scanner.

If your vendor provided a CD, use it to install the drivers. Otherwise, use "plug and pray" or "add new hardware" to scope out the hardware and have Windows install the driver for it. Then use TWAIN, the Windows facility, or the scanner vendor's proprietary program to start scanning.
