If you just bought it, then it shouldn't need to be repotted just yet! Keep it in full sun, make sure it stays well watered, give it some fertilizer and that should do it!

Once you see roots coming out of the bottom of the pot (out of the drain holes) then it is time to repot. Recommendations for repotting:

Get a pot that is a little bigger than the one you already have. (If you have an 8" pot, get a 10" pot.) You never want to pot up a plant in a pot that is too large... the soil won't dry out fast enough and may cause root rot. When you have the plant out of the pot, break up the root mass so the roots can grow outward and fill in all of the space in the new pot! As far as potting soil, they don't need anything special! Hibiscus aren't picky plants!

Have fun!

If the plant is not too big for the pot, I would not repot it right away. If you see fibrous roots on top of the root ball, just put some everyday potting soil over that and water thorougly. Watch so you don't underwater your hybiscus plant but provide good drainage.

any good potting soil will do. Personally use Miracle Grow, moisture mix. Hibiscus love full sun. Happy growing
