please list everything you need for someone to be your best friend - qualities, values, beliefs and attitudes.
some of these may be qualities that you have, your current best friend, a few here and a few there among other friends, and most importantly qualities you have yet to find in anyone that you can believe and trust in.

i have been receiving some good answers, but i am looking for qualities besides the most basic of trust, love, honesty.
examples: sense of humor, patience, creative, unconditionally always there, sensitive, brave, responsible, compassion for others, environmentally friendly, integrity, independent, charitable, crazy, original, dreamer, respect for the laws of society (or not), etc.
this was just a few of many characteristics i was looking for. most genuine answer gets ten points and a way to go!

It doesn't really matter what they believe, if they are to be your best friend though they will understand and have faith in what you believe and stand beside you in good times and in hard times, they will listen to your feelings and share deep things with you and you with them ,then you will know that they are your best friend and they will know that you are thiers.

Sorry, but there is no "perfect" bestfriend. Trust me, I know. What you want in a bestfriend would be the one who follows the basic rule of relationships. Give and take. Someone who you can totally be yourself with (i.e. You're in your pj's and your hair is all messed up when she/he came over, but she/he doesn't mind.) Someone who respects your ideas and decisions... Someone you can tell anything to... Someone who understands you... And basically that's it. We can't avoid any fights or arguements, that's natural. You don't have to be that picky anyway. Who knows, maybe your worst enemy now can be your long lost best friend. :)
