At first I used a refill kit but I started having problems with my prints, cuz they didn't come out right. Then I changed the cartridges and it worked very good for a short while there, but now papers just come out blank when i print.

Did your prints start getting light or streaky right before the cartridges stopped working? It may be that you got the low capacity cartridges and they just ran out quickly. The cartridges for that printer don't have much ink even when they're full.

As someone said, don't touch the copper portion of the cartridge. You can check to see if there is any ink the cartridge by dabbing that portion of the cartridge on a piece of a paper or a paper towel or something. If you can see ink is coming out, then you can try some cleaning cycles. Or you can try soaking the bottom portion of the cartridge in a tiny bit of water to get the ink flowing. It doesn't really sound like the cartridges have blocked nozzles, but you never know.

How long have you let the printer sit? If they are not being used for days, it's ok, but you let your printer sit for a few weeks or months and you're inviting trouble. The jets tend to go dry an clogging. Once that happens, you'll probablybe having issues from then on. I suggest trying t oblow out the jets first. Clean jets or heads in maintenance. You could use q-tip and alcohol to wipe head on cartridges. Next time, use different brand or type ink when refilling cartridges, because obviously that ink wasn't the best. Epson uses their own concoction of ink, so using a different ink isn't good. Lexmark I never used. I had an Epson that needed the ink to be replaced, well I took too long. By the time I replaced inks (Epson brand), it was too late: the printer would go through the motions, but when the paper came out, blank! I tried everything imaginable, but nothing worked. I managed to get a little ink out, but it never would work properly since. Now I have an all in one Epson that I can't even use, because Epson won't tell me what to do or how to fix it. They just will not give a straight answer. I wonder if they even know what is going on. They are the worst for helping. I hope you can get your printer to work, and not have the experience I had. Some how you've got to unclog the nozzles. Use that cheap ink to do this, because you'll be using a lot of ink to do this with. Once you get it flowing again, then change the cartridges back to the Lexmark.

Those cartridges are quite possibly the worst cartridges on the market. The lexmark 16/26 or 17/27. If you haven't used the printer in about 2~3 weeks then the cartridges have dried out. Try running a couple print head cleanings. If that ceases to restore the print quality replace the cartridges or better yet for the cost of those little guys replace the whole damn printer.

DON'T EVER TOUCH THE BOTTOM OF AN INK CARTRIDGE you can damage them.
If you have used have used re-manufactured or had the cartridges refilled try cleaning the ELECTRICAL CONTACTS with a DRY plastic pan cleaner (fine not course).
If you have had them re-filled you have lost your money but if you have used re-manufactured take them back.

you may of got bad ink cartridges. Take them out and touch the bottom of them to see if there is ink coming out. If so then your printer is not getting the information correctly from your computer. You may have to reinstall your drivers.
