I too am in Canada and I can tell you that I stereotype the rabbit above plenty !
I am also in multicultural Toronto and can't believe he can speak and write English better than me !!
Am stupid !!!:-)
----- I am joking !------
Maybe my grand-kids (will have to wait a long time for that) will be more interesting .......but they might be living elsewhere by then anyway!
PS: You are right. It is scary ! Honestly : I would rather not think about it. It might sound very blasé but politicians do not make any sense and do not expect nor care to reelected on 100-200 year plans. 6 months is the limit !:-).
It is also difficult for people to think long term, as long as it does not entail their pension. Everybody is always so busy worrying about what is going to happen next week, next month, next year with the present economics that you would drive yourself crazy if you start thinking what might or might not happen in 10 years' time.
I am just hoping for the best and that some geniuses will come along with entire new clean technologies and inventions because I am not putting the planet's future in the hands of politicians. Not in North America !!!!! They preach one thing and do the opposite constantly to gain attention and popularity. They want to look as though they "care" but under scrutiny, nothing !
That is is for me because it is Friday afterall and have to think about the coming week-end.......will see what happens next week when Monday comes :-) !

I'm in Canada where generally speaking we are pretty ignorant about the rest of the world. For example, I was born in so-called multicultural Toronto and yet people still make all kinds of assumptions about me based on my appearance (I won't get into the details of a photo the #1 newspaper took of me and what they wrote, without even bothering to talke to me!).
Me personally - I don't worry too much about my grandchildren's future (if I were to have them) because I know that by their time the typical petty Canadian concerns will be pretty irrelevent, and you will have to think globally or fail to survive.

except you're already a really extreme-score member of the federal authorities, a pacesetter of a significant international agency or company, or different similiar positions, you won't be able to act globally. you received't have sufficient administration over issues in case you attempt to address more beneficial than is low priced. hence, you could purely ACT regionally. concepts as to international impression, or objectives of such, might want to be seen, yet almost all of people are purely able to appearing regionally.

Stay isolated when the rest of you freaks are blowing stuff up and warring constantly.
Europe, France, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Spain, are constantly fighting, even Russia gets in on it.
Here is one for you
Insanity: doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result.
Americans are sane cause we will try something different and know what happened in the past did not work.
I worry about the hatred and snobbery and intolerance Europeon, and middle eastern countries promote and teach down through history. Give up and forgive and go on. People need to let go of things we cannot change.

Its not just Americans there are people across the world who think like this. At the same time there are more people in every nation that think globally. As time passes, I am sure that the people who think globally will link up and make this world a better place to live, .............. for our grandchildren!! nverma74@yahoo.com

The future of our children's children should be secured because our memories will also be gone if there is no world to cherish for them. Let Americans help other nations in poverty and chaos.

1st The one generalization that can be made is that you should never generalize.
2nd You said Americans. Which ones Central, South, North be more specific.
3rd I'm sure you are talking about the USA. Which is funny because we are usually the ones delivering food and medicines after global disasters.
