Probably not permanent; you're muscles took a beating and were pulled. You won't feel it at first, but the next day or a few days later, you'll be experiencing exactly what you are describing. Take some anti-inflammatories like asprin or advil, ibuprophen with food and try to relax. Hot showers will relax the muscles also. All of that sitting in a car and activity isn't going to help much. You just need a couple of days to get back to normal and let those muscles heal. God Bless.

Yes, you can get permanent damage if you don't get it treated by a chiropractor. What happens is that your vertebrae are put slightly out of place, and this irritates the joints between them, which irritates your muscles, which hurt a lot and tell you you need help. A chiropractor can move the vertebrae back to where they belong and you will be fine, unless the injury is worse than I think. But if you don't get treatment, they will get stuck out of place and eventually cause arthritis and maybe injuries to the joints between the vertebrae. Get it taken care of. The car insurance should pay for it, and most chiropractors will start work before the money comes in.

Most accident victims do not feel the pain or realize the full extent of their injuries until days later.
A chiropractor is the best for treating any back or neck injuries. You can develop scar tissue from the injuries, which will cause problems in the future.
Chiropractors treat the cause, not the symptoms.
Get well soon.

You were hurt in an accident, and there is bound to be pain the next day. You shouldn't have moved a muscle when your family was packing to move.
Now it has been 3 weeks and you are feeling the pain?
That means you must seek a doctor to make sure your aches aren't from any broken bone, and that you are healing properly.

GO TO DOCTOR

You should see a good recommened chiropractor immediately and yes you could end up with permanent damage but probably not if you get to a chiropractor NOW.

~~sounds like wiplash... the day of the accident you feel fine and after that comes the pain... prob not perm. damage, but i would consult an osteopath or a chiropractor... find one that specializes in upper cervical care adjustments, when the upper part of your spine is out of alignment it can make your whole back spasm.~~
