You should try searching the NLA catalogue (it's online)

In particular, here's one of Victoria from 1862. You just need to click on the image (several times) and you can zoom right in to see Melbourne, Heidelberg, Footscray (an old spelling of Fitzroy perhaps?) and Brighton!

The State Libray has a great historical map collection but you should ring first to find out when you can visit. Also the Royal Historical Society of Victoria at 239 A'Beckett Street near Flagstaff Station. Phone 9326 9288 or visit their website at www.historyvictoria.org.au. Or you could visit the local historical societies. The RHSV can help you find these.

prablay cuz they were listed under a different name originally so they would be under that name try each separatly
