I know. Both of your schedules are hectic and stressful.
How about this idea. I think this would be EXTREMELY romantic.
Inexpensive and you could show off your creative side.
Have a candlelight picnic in your backyard or a park. If there is a beach nearby, that would be even better.
Bring a large blanket and 2 or 3 pretty accent pillows.
Tiki torches are cheap and they won't be blown out by the breeze, if you're on a beach. 2 to 4 would give off the perfect illumination....
Bring a large pitcher of margaritas, pina colads or whatever you both like.
Wine too or instead. Bring GLASS drinking glasses. Crystal, if you have any.
Bring a large variety of finger foods. Chicken salad sandwiches, Havarti cheese and good crackers. The tiny skinny loaves of rye bread are DELICIOUS with thinly sliced summer sausage by Eckridge and either Monterrey jack or havarti cheese on top of the tiny slices of rye bread.
Sour dough bread is good too. You just tear pieces off with your fingers. ALL cheese tastes good on sour dough. Have a couple of apples to go with it. It's an amazing taste together. Bring knives for the apples and cheese. Potato salad or an exotic pasta salad make a nice side dish. Also artichoke hearts or artichoke pasta salad.
Green AND black olives, sliced carrots and snow peas add color and variety to the atmosphere.
Get or make a nice dip for the carrots and snow peas.
Bring cloth napkins and candles that are in something that is wind proof.
Kiwi fruit and pears are also good with it.
Chocolate eclairs or chocolate mousse cream puffs are also good. They are pretty and have a slight sexiness to them. If the two of you prefer , just bring the stuff to make somores. Graham crackers, hershey bars and large marshmallows.
Scortch the marshmallows on sticks over a small fire or just buy a can of STERNO. Not as romantic, but less hassle.
You could make small deli sandwiches instead. Get some thinly sliced, corned beef or pastrami(bring GREY POUPON DIJON MUSTARD) for these meats, also thinly sliced BLACK FOREST HAM. Olive salad on these sandwiches are heavenly.
Guacamole and tortilla chips OR veggies is always popular for dipping.
Don't forget to bring romantic CDs and a player
Wear a pretty dressy feminine dress. If you have one that blows in the breeze, that's even better.
If you're near a beach or pool, bring a sexy swimsuit for swimming later. Towels too.
Bring fresh flowers and put them in a pretty vase. Bring bottled water to put in the vase.
Wear a REAL flower in your hair. Attatch it by using floral wire to the stem of the flower, onto your hair. You can get it from ANY craft store. It is REALLY cheap.
I like onion rolls or kieser rolls(with poppy seeds the best).
The strawberries idea is kind of considered dated and unoriginal now. Dare to be different. Chocolate belgian truffles are delicious and sexy.
Good luck!... I can tell that even though the stress is getting to both of you, you love each other very much.

All of these other idiots just type answers for the points or tell you to cook something at home or what to wear. I dont answer questions like that so let me just say try a fine italian dining place like Olive Garder. However, there is a finer dining place south of you in Bolivar, Ohio. It's called Georgio's Grille. I used to work as a chef there so if you would like information on pricing or what food they have just email me. Bolivar is about 15 min south of canton. Just take I-77 to exit 93. Turn left and follow the signs.

Go to the Melting Pot. It is a fondue resturant, so it is a little different because you do the "cooking."
You'll have 3 or 4 courses. It is fun and relaxing.

Try to find a Melting Pot or other Fondue place. Sharing food is great for bonding. The little forks are pretty sharp though...
