My cousin did it at her wedding....good idea. What is the question though?

If you're asking are they a good idea, I would say no. Best to put a certain amount of money behind the bar or provide certain number of bottles. Perhaps best is a combination of the two for people who don't fancy what's in the bottles.

Only if you have a handful of guests that are clearly gonna take advantage otherwise it is best to leave it as a mystery as to what you are 'giving' your guests and leave a limit with the barman.

Why bother - guest should be prepared to pay for thier own drinks. I assume you will be pridiving wine and champgne wi the meal and toasts
