Fat is an understatement. According to recent statistics at least 70% of us are now obese, including our children.

Bully? We do think we are the policemen of the world. We spend $425Billion annualy on defence. More people have died as a result of American bombs since Bush came to power than ever before in the history of the US. We give $4Billion annualy to Israel so our taxes pay for all of those bunnker busting bombs responsible for the massacre and genocide of innocents civilians and children.

Over 100,000 have died in Iraq since we invaded, and over 2,000 of our brave troops, and for what? To remove a dictator?. There has to be an easier bloodless ways of removing a dictator. At least 50 are dying each day in Iraq which has decended into civil war. Though they won't admit it, all of the returning troops admit that there is a civil war there, including a recent outgoing Ambassador who spoke of the chaos and civil war raging there. Then we have Afghanistan where we are loosing more troops each week.

It does seem never ending. Our taxes funded the recent bombardment and destrucvtion on Lebanon's infrastructure by Israel, rsulting in the loss of thousands of lives and breakdown of their country, including a massive oil slikc which will pollute their sea and that of Turkey and Greece. Is it any wonder that we are seen as a the big fat bully boy of the world.

Just think how these billions spent on killing people overseas, could be spent here at home, on education, health, eliminating poverty and homelessness, on scientific research, on saving lives and on humanity.

Bush sure does have a lot of innocent blood on his hands. And he calls himself 'Christian' Does them man have a conscience?. It seems not.

Well, many people in the US, think police officers are bullies and that they pick on good people. But in reality, they are just trying to serve and protect and police up all the dirtbags so that the good people don' get bothered.

It's the same for the US on the international scene. And when someone is getting picked on by a real bully, they call the US because we care. For the most part, Americans are God-faring people who we stand up for the rights and concerns of people all over the world because we provide a home for many of those same peoples. So we have an invested interest in the lives of people all over the world.

And we have the power to do some good. So why not?!

In "Stupid White Men" and "Bowling For Colombine", Michael Moore introduced millions of readers and moviegoers worldwide to some of America's ills: guns, corrupt politicians, fearful citizens, unchecked corporations, crumbling social services. These are big problems for a nation that plays such a dominating international role.

Understanding them is one thing, but what can be done to fix them?

In his unpublished manuscript, The IHO Syndrome, Julien Ninio suggests the best way to understand America's ailments is to study their symptoms, in the same way a doctor examines a patient - and that the diagnosis is of a disease that can be cured by both Americans and non-Americans.

Before I answer the question I would like to point out that it is America, not Amerika. As to your question- America is there to help those in need before anyone else, even if that means controlling something that is a threat to everyone and their way of life. For example, you would not be happy if Hitler was allowed to do as he wished in Germany and against the world, would you? Perhaps you would enjoy the Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden attacking everyone? Or maybe you would enjoy allowing Saddam Hussein to torture and kill anyone he desires to?

As a percentage of GDP, U.S. aid indicates that America is one of the least generous (rich) countries in the world.

"The United States has significantly increased its foreign aid to poor countries but still ranks 12th among the 21 richest nations in its overall performance in helping the world's poor, according to a widely watched annual report."

It's funny that Americans hate foreigners and they hate people who can't speak English yet they spend a lot of time in other countries that are full of foreigners and don't speak English and they are surprised when the people of that country don't want them there.

Since America is for Americans maybe Americans should stay in America?

depends on who's in office. normally the US only jumps in if asked by who needs the help - like when iraq invaded kuwait

right now, we have a complete moron in office who butts in on everyone else's business. In fact, he didn't even win the election by the actual voters. I think he feels like he's going after the terrorists, but he's clueless like a blind man with a shotgun. Hopefully he will lose the next election to someone with a brain

Not me, we get scrutinized if we are not the first to jump up and give tons of money to aid other countries who would blow us up in a minute if they had the resources.

Screw other countries who bash the United states where do you guys turn when you need financial help, or military support? TO US. Whoever gave me thumbs down kiss my "AmeriKan" ***.

well I do but if America does not solve everybodys problems who will? If America didn't ever steop in with Israel I think the massacre would keep on going. I thank AMerica for saving my country from destruction. (Korea) As the superpower of the world everybody looks towards us. Did you know AMerica is also the leading country for giving aid to different countries?
