Hi everyone, i am selling a property and it has arear aceess, the garden has a car port that was there before i bought it but i was asked before if i obtained permission to drive up the curb onto my garden but i said my solicitor never advised me of it when i bought the house and that was that, i have now had an email saying my solicitor has been asked for the above by the people trying to buy my house and i need someone to tell me what this means in simple terms , thanks in advance

the people who are purchasing your property want to ensure that it is legal to continue driving up the curb and parking as you are currently doing so. as you have no knowledge of this fact, your current lawyer will have to contact your previous lawyer and see if he can obtain information from him. failing that, he will probably have to make inquiries with the city where you live. just tell your lawyer that you have no knowledge in regards to this issue and would feel uncomfortable swearing something to that effect. he should be able to advise you further.
