I don't think you should bail him out repeatedly, but I think this one time, yes, you should.
You will need to attend the Marcel Marceau Finishing School in order to learn how to pretend to fill in a bail form, how to give a tearful bearhug to an imaginary buddy, and how to yell abuse at police officers who don't exist.
(The good news is, you only have to pretend to pay the fees for this course.)
On the way home, you need to sit down at a park bench and give him a stern talking-to. Remember to wag your finger in the air a lot, you may get spotted by an Orchestra Conductor Talent Scout.
PS: If your friend has been charged with Recklessly Impersonating The Invisible Man under section 22 (a), subsection IV of the Imaginary Persons Act, then I'm sorry to say that he's a goner - it's the mandatory death penalty by lethal imaginary injection.

If you know how you can lead him back in the "right" way, go on, pay the bail and take him out; just make sure this does not become a habit.
On the other hand, if he's really your friend, you do it because you love and want to offer the best for him. If you do this only for him to express his thanks and appreciation, just forget the bail -because if he does not thank you, you will feel a loser- and try to be close to him in other ways.

No. Don't be an enabler. He will only learn his lesson by feeling the consequences. If you help this person, you will just get sucked into his b***s***, and while he will be glad to get out of jail so he can get right back to his partying as quickly as possible, he will not appreciate you or repay you for what you did. These guys are users in every sense of the word. Please believe me, this guy needs help, but you are probably not qualified to provide him with the kind of help he needs...he needs professional help.
