First off, it's not a name. It's a nickname, short for Gianluigi (Jean-Louis, or John Louis -- that's what it means).
Second, you think that "Zizou" is a smarter nickname, don't you? Oooops. "Zizou" can be easily mistaken for "zizi"... and who knows, maybe some Frenchmen out there do actually call their "zizi" "zizou". So, hmmmm, not that smart of a nickname, after all. At least "Gigi" doesn't lend itself to obscene interpretations... ;-)

I don't think so, not when there are many people in places such as Hong Kong whose nicknames are Gigi.
