Health care professionals will tell you not to douche at all anyway, b/c it strips you of natural oils used to cleanse your downstairs. It increases the chances of bacterial and yeast infections. You are already at a higher risk for these being pregnant anyway, so I'd think it'd just be a good idea to not douche. Just wash thoroughly in the shower, you'll be alright.

Every pregnancy book out there, every website here and every doctor will tell you NO!
Besides the fact that you shouldn't need to douche anyway...the vagina is self cleaning; douching while pregnant can force air into the uterus and kill you and the fetus.
If you have a funky odor that makes you want to douche, you need to discuss it with your doctor...you may have a bacterial infection or an STD which can cause a miscarriage.

I'm so totally shocked that woman are still douching. When you douche, you flush not only the bad bacteria but also the good. And douching causes yeast infections and leaves your vagina defenseless from fighting bad bacteria.

Well....first of all, there is no reason to douche at all. The vagina already has a system of cleaning itself...

Douches may consist of water, water mixed with vinegar, or even antiseptic chemicals. Douching may also introduce undesirable foreign bodies into the vagina. For these reasons, the practice of douching is now generally discouraged, unless under medical supervision.

No...don't ever douche, pregnant or not. Douching is never required, it upsets the normal pH balance in your vagina, and can actually lead to infections. If you are worried about feeling unclean down there, eat lots of yogurt which contains good bacteria your body needs in order to rid itself of bad bacteria. And wash well with a mild, non-irritating soap.

No. Douching shouldn't be done at all. The vagina is a self cleansing instrument (why you have "drainage"). When you use a douche, all you're doing is taking the yeast, germs and bacteria that is normally draining out and pushing it back up inside.

Both times I was pregnant, I was advised not to douche. the force of the fluid can tear the vaginal lining and cause problems. Call your doctor's office and ask the nurse for a more detailed explanation if you like. A good book to refer to is "what to expect while expecting".

Douching is not recommended ever. It strips the vagina of necessary bacteria.

You are definitely NOT supposed to douche while pregnant.

I would guess not since they say no, no, no to everything else. But I don't know the answer honestly and I'm to lazy to Google it.

Probably not though. Most people always say the body cleanses itself and there is no need for douching. It actually triggers more infections than prohibiting them.
