What 2 player PC game w/ cute cartoon animals smacking each other with hammers then transform into beasts?

2 Player fighter PC game from about 8-10 years ago. Cute and cuddly cartoon puppies, bunnies, etc. smacking the crap out of each other with bats and hammers until they morph into giant bionic beasts. Then they would be armed with lazers and machine guns. I believe that the CD was red.
