not unless a signature is required and in the case of something as expensive as a computer then they might need a signature.

Well, UPS could have been given the order to obtain a signature and not just leave it at the doorstep. UPS could have also not have been given that order and will just drop it by the doorstep and leave.

They usually leave my packages on my doorstep, if I am not home and don't come to the door. If they don't leave it, they usually leave a slip on the doorknob saying it needs picked up.
I don't have a clue where you would categorize this one!

In certain instances, they will leave it at your doorstep, but you're getting something of high value, and the company shipping it to you will likely want a signature, so no they will not.

for general delivery parcels, UPS, FedEx and DHL will usually leave at your doorstep.
if the sender requires acceptance confirmation or signature, they will not leave the package unattended, and you will have to schedule to be home on the day of delivery (you can track delivery date via the UPS site) or pick up at the local UPS location.
if you are awaiting a PC (as referenced in your category selection) you may want to consider special delivery arrangements.

A computer will probably not be left on your doorstep they will probably leave a note for you to come pick it up at their wearhouse if you are not there when they deliver it.

They have left a few at my door.I would call and complain that you never got the computer and you want them to track it down.If they dont have your signature they dont have proof of delivery.

If you ordered something important or expensive, they will ring your doorbell and wait for you to come out. When my brother ordered a laptop, they waited until he went downstairs. If you are not home, they will come another time.
