You should define what drugs you think are stupid? From what you said it sounds like you think all drugs are stupid. Aspirin, cough medicine, pennacilian ECT ECT. Most illicit drugs are stupid, but some illicit drugs are safer than the so called legal drugs. For example Heroin. physiologically heroin is not that bad for your body, its the addiction that is harmful. From the research I have seen, and documentaries I have seen the addiction alone is what makes heroin bad. I am not saying everyone should do it, but that is just an example. Also what makes Heroin so bad is when people inject it into their bodys via the needle. I have never done the drug, and I was surprised to find how harmless the drug is to your body. Marijuana would be my drug of choice, but I will argue to the grave that it is better for you than drinking. Dr Weil a famous naturalist Dr out of AZ says he is dissapointed that more doctors don't prescribe the drug. What gets me is the people who are so addicted to drugs that ulter your neurotransmitters. For example Xantax. It seems we are in an era of the pill. People these days will take anything just to "feel good" But my problem is how come so many people have a problem with being sober? Anyways good question :)

Maybe because their life is painful (whether that be psychological pain or physical pain) and they seek some comfort. Please don't begrudge other people a small modicum of comfort until you "walk a mile in their shoes." I hear what you're saying, but it is more the Puritan laws against drugs that cause the harm, i.e., by incarcerating the "perpetrators", social disdain (like you're exhibiting), and by creating a lucrative business for the drug dealers, and all the consequences that result from that, like gang/drug turf wars and the killing of innocents that are in the wrong place at the wrong time during a drug-related drive-by shooting. Just my opinion. I don't advocate the use of drugs, but if people feel they need them, let them have what they need. We don't deny accident victims morphine. If we can be humane in this instance, why not in other instances? We need to care a little bit more about others that are not as fortunate as those of us who don't "need" drugs to find a little peace and happiness. Peace and love to you.

yeah i totally agree with you. a member of my family messed around with cocaine, hope fully doesnt anymore.. but i cant be sure.. anyway, i think drug use starts as a result of depression, unsureity about life, insecurity, lack of goals, etc. and rather than dealing with these feelings properly, drugs offer a temporary euphoric escape from the realities of life. In turn, wreaking havoc on a persons mental and physical state, as well as scareing and hurting the ones who love and care for them the most. but yeah i also dont get why people get in the that shitttttt... its a very bad choice.

i choose not to use drugs. why put added chemicals in your body that are known to not be safe? even psychological drugs are scary although i might start taking them. i was even scared to take aspirin but of course that is dumb.. sometimes you need to. as for drugs go, i absolutely hate weed. that is the worst drug ever. crack/cocaine.. well i heard cocaine is cool but i dont need a drug to be or feel cool. i dont need an expensive habit and i dont need to be a loser. i mean if i was a millionaire and i had the money to snort some white stuff id still be a loser wouldnt i? but never say never because things you say you will never do you end up doing anyway. life is about experience and you cant have one extreme without the other. i think. neways... the one drug that i tried that i liked was cold medicine. there is a chemical in it that i keep forgetting but my ex-friends called it Kords. it was the weirdest most unexpected and cool trip ever. about 5 months ago i thought about acid and i took like 8 hydrocodone pills. and we know those are good. but drugs arent necessary and if you can live life without those harmful crutches the better. even alcohol sucks.. bad crowd. bad habit. bad reflexes. bad breath. expensive.. and its a depressant.

Yep. Stupid and pathetic. Drugs are a crutch. They provide a temporary escape from a reality that the user finds to be overwhelming. The problem in using drugs is that running from your problems will only serve to make them accumulate and become worse.
That, or the user may be doing them "to be cool", to fit in...peer pressure. Which is a stupid reason to do anything, if not backed up by more legitimate reasons.
The same holds true for excessive alcohol consumption.

I don't think drugs are stupid, otherwise, doctors wouldn't prescribe so many of them. Oh, and please don't say that just because they are prescribed to someone that it makes it okay. I know far too many people who are addicted to drugs that a doc has prescribed them.
Personally, I've tried lots of drugs...legal and illegal. I've done them, sold them, you name it, but I've never been what I've considered addicted to any of them. Addiction is a disease and lots of people are unaware that they are at risk for addiction when they began experimenting with stuff that makes them feel good. I quit on my own and haven't given it a second thought even though they say once a meth user always a meth user. That's just plain Bulls.h.i.t. The truth to quitting is willpower, but I know a lot of people who have absolutely none.
So, drugs are not stupid....people are stupid.

because some people stress, are depressed ,homeless, feel lonley and it may be from peer pressure. some may grew up with drugs. there are severla reasons. drugs are easy and cheap to buy and they make your problems go away for a short period of time. but when you get hooked it is hard to get off and it your problems are not solved, drugs are there to resuce you. and yes drugs are stupid but so is the government, the war, domestic violence, racism, and god knows what else.

Drugs are not stupid but the people who take them without a doctor's prescription are the biggest fools in the world.

Peer pressure. Some start at a young age, and some are.. well.. kind of forced to do it. If you grow up around those things (like, if your parents or your brothers take drugs all the time), you're more likely to do it too.

People usually think that they have to get into drugs. They do drugs because they think it helps them relax and ease things. But it really doesnt. It harms them without them realizing it but they keep doing it because everytime they need to relax or ease up they depend on drugs as their answer.
