sleeping with make up on can age your skin up to 10 times as fast compared to having a clean face when sleeping. your skin "fixes" itself while you sleep and if you leave make up on then your skin absorbs all the chemicals from the make up. not to mention the fact that you rub your eyes while you sleep and smear mascara and eyeliner everywhere. the best thing to do is to get a good cream make up remover and remove the make up right before you go to bed. using a moisturizer and an eye cream at night can significantly improve how your skin looks. don't forget to drink plenty of water and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep for maximum benefits. good luck.

I am a makeup artist and this is y u shouldn't:
Your skin, like you, needs to "breathe." Sleep is when our minds and bodies are rejuvenated. Hair and nails grow more quickly during these hours than at any other time of the day. Your skin needs to be free of products which will simply block your pores and inevitably cause breakouts. Consider this: If a patch to help stop smoking can be absorbed through your skin, then so can your makeup!
Moreover, it is before bed when you should give special attention to thoroughly cleansing your skin from the day's grime and oil build-up and use products which will leave you with a soft, firm, wrinkle-free, luminous complexion in the morning. After cleansing and toning, choose a skin care regimen (or assorted products) which works for you and stay with it. Read the ingredients; items with alpha-hydroxy components (vegetable and fruit acids) will help your own skin to renew itself, ridding itself of dead cells. Thus, you won't awake with clogged pores and troubled skin, but a wide-awake, ready-to-paint "canvas" for the next day

Nothing serious would happen as such, but its just very bad for your skin. The dirt on your skin will get clogged in, which will result in dry skin or acne. Eyeliner will NOT make you blind, but it will give you irritation in your eyes, i would STRONGLY recommend you wash your face with water and a cleanser\face wash every night, whether or not your wear make up. Even the dirt of the day should not stick to your skin while your sleeping, just not makeup.

Your skin goes through the same process that your body does when you sleep. It repairs itself from the wear and tear of the day. Night time is sooooo crucial to keeping your face soft, healthy, young and free of blemishes!
Your make-up (especially foundation) acts as a barrier against dirt and pollution for your skin. So, at the end of the day it is full of all the icky stuff. When your skin repairs itself it forms a layer over that make-up, trapping it into your pores and making it virtually impossible to get off in the morning! Yikes! When the dirt and make-up does start to come out of your skin, it does so in the form of pimples! GROSS!
It's proven that when you sleep with make-up on your skin ages an extra day over night! Just think about all the days that you can rack up by regulary sleeping in your make-up!
If you are young, it is best to start taking good care of your skin now. Before, you have wrinkles. You will love yourself for it as you get older and all your friends are jealous of how young you look, because your skin is so smooth! When you do have wrinkles, there is no way to make them disappear, they are there for life!
Here is what to get:
eye make up remover- this is important, because it keeps you from rubbing at your eyes and tugging at the delicate skin around them
cleanser
night cream- get one packed with vitamins that will help restore your skin over night.
mousterizer
Apply in that order. I would recommend Mary Kay's Timewise Miracle set. It is amazing. I have been to many years of school, and found that this is the best product out there! GIve it a try and see!
Good luck!

You'll break out, get clogged pores and get makeup all over your pillow cases. Just wash your face and all the makeup off before you go to bed. You'll feel better in the morning, trust me!

If you don't remove the make -up before going to bed , it will create lot of problems like pimples and wrinkles and it will not allow the skin to breathe.
