At my bridal shower I was given a used hand mixer. What made it so bad was that it hadn't been cleaned very well after it was used last, and there were weevil living on it!!

I have a relative who is very sweet and also very famous for giving me things I would never wear. Last Christmas, I received a t-shirt, yellow, from the state of Texas, with a picture of cowboy boots on it. She has never seen me wear anything even remotely like that. I never even unfolded it. But nothing beats the time she gave me a rosary bracelet, pink, blessed by the pope. I am not even remotely Catholic, I never wear pink, and I have absolutely no respect for the Vatican whatsoever.

i offered my Dad (a non-smoker) an ashtray on a college holiday to Wales as quickly as, i replaced into 12, hadn't a clue it replaced into an ashtray it basically appeared like some cheesy vacationer ornament and replaced into desirous to purchase something. Mortified silence greeted its unwrapping.

the worst I can think of is my bf at the time gave me a baseball mitt for my birthday because we had played catch one time. I wanted something more romantic(he thought it was) and don't think we ever played catch again anyway.

The gift wasn't necesarily bad, it was the way it was presented to me. i was given a slinky purple evening dress that wasn't even my size. When I opened it, the person who gave it to me said that she'd worn it to her sister's wedding and to somewhere else, and that she thought she'd just wash it and give it to me. The sad thing is, she was serious.

presents that have no thought and are not worth the $5 it probably cost like fake leather belts and cheap underwear and oversized clothes from Kmart - they all went to good causes as I donated them

My parents told me about something special they got me for x-mas, they kept talking about it. When I finally opened it, it was a really ugly pair of pajamas. I felt guilty for not being thrilled about the ugly pajamas, but I finally said I hated them so they returned them and I got money instead! :)
