When I was a kid (back in the mid 80's) there was an animated/possibly claymation movie that always came on around one of the "off of school" holiday weekends (either presidents day or memorial day). It began with dinosaurs and eventually went on to contain some people flying around in a half balloon / half blimp contraption. It also included these purple creatures that wandered around in an almost heaven-like environment. I know this sounds really out there, but this is all I can recall. I remember loving this movie, but can't figure out what it was called, or how to find out.

"The Adventures of Mark Twain" It's the first feature length claymation movie, and I think it's out on DVD!

It may have been a movie called 'The Lost World'. There have been several versions made. One about a group of escaped civil war convicts in a balloon that lands on an island with dinosaurs, and another that has a balloon landing in a lost city in the arctic populated by vikings. I believe the other title was 'The Land That Time Forgot'.

I don't know, but there was one in 1993 that was called WERE BACK! : A dinosaur's story. It was about this scientist that went back in time and made the dinosaurs smart by feeding them something. But I remember the blimp, and Rex taking it down because he had been made a circus freak and reverted back to his cannibalistic nature. It was a sad film.

Can remember it a little myself but not the title. It was a good little movie and seems like it was animated not the claymation, but I could be wrong.
You do have the satisfaction of knowing I will be up all night now trying to remember the name of it. LOL

man, don't u just hate that when u can faintly remember stuff that seemed so cool to u when u were little.. I'm not sure what show your talking about. I'll add u to my watch list so if something sparks i can find u.. it wasn't the California raisins was it. probably not u said dinosaurs.. remember pippie long stocking, fraggle rock and some weird Muppet show on Nickelodeon and it wasn't the Muppet's. that's the one I'm still trying to figure out..

I don't know the movie either but go to www.imdb.com and search for keywords that you can remember. try 80s movies or dinosaurs. It may take a while but you'll find it eventually.
