I like just regular old Tampax, for a newbie I suggest the slender size until you can figure out what her flow will be. Slender will be the least noticable for her

they have ones called slim fits. they are really skinny, like a pencil i think. i think tampax makes them. it has a plastic applicator with a rounded tip so it easily glides in there with ease. i started off with those, then went bigger

there are some playtex juniors for beginners, or if you cant find those, just get the smallest tampon on the market
