Just so everyone knows... I just started taking birth control too. Its only been my second month of taking it. Do you think that could also be causing the problem?

No. You should definitely see your doc.

Since your body is still adjusting to the hormones that are in the birth control pills, a period lasting that long can be very normal. I would see a doctor if it continues longer than another 10 days or so. You are experiencing what they call "Break Through Bleeding", and it happens quite often to women just starting to take the pill.
I would see a doctor also if your bleeding is heavier than normal, or to just put your mind at ease!

Honey don't panic. I had periods that went for anywhere between 10 and 17 days for about 6 months!!! When I got to see my Doc she switched my pill brand and Boom! now they only last 5-7 days. If your period runs long next cycle, or you're really bugged now, go check with a Gyn. and check out other pill options. Just don't sweat it- our bodies are so weird sometimes.

yes it could be normal. it could be your pills that are too strong, it could come from stress, or your hormones is just going through some changes. as you get older, your body will go through several changes. you can have your period last from 3 days, 1 week, two weeks, 1 month, or a month and a half. all women are different.

the cause of this is probably the pills that you are taking, the hormonal changes produce the excessive growing of the endometrium (the part of the uterus that you lost with every period, you should go to your doctor and talk a little more about this because that among of bleeding may produce anemia. your doctor probably will change your prescription.
good luck

Hi,
What I know about woman's period is normally they had it about 7-8 days. However in medical practice, it is normal for woman to have period up to 2 weeks. So, dont worry about your period. Its normal.

You need to see a doctor. Mine last that long sometimes and it's nothing serious but I've always been weird like that. You need to rule out any serious problems, especially with this being out of the ordinary for you.

periods can last from 3 days to 10 days and as long as it doesn't keep on going, it's ok. but if it does, go get it checked out by a doctor, especially if your flow isn't decreasing.
