I know where Yuma, AZ is. It's not where I'm at. I'm in Las Vegas, NV. Yes I've heard of both of those things. We can't walk our dogs here either during the heat of the day. I can stand the sidewalk for a while if it's white...

That's where my parents were married. It's spelled "saguaro", and I even know the difference between ocotillo and cholla! I've always lived in Southern California, but I like traveling around all the western states. I like visiting, but I know it gets too darn hot and cold. Otherwise, I'd love to live in AZ or NM.
