tons and tons of them - it is such a common side effect. It could be one that somehow speeds their heart up or blood pressure - Not just thyroid drugs - that answer is totally not right - all meds can cause tons of side effects - most common, less common, rare, etc and sweating (excessive) is on every list of any med I have ever filled so it could be anything. It could just be a problem too - with their body and not due to a drug but you must know it is a drug or I doubt you would have phrased the Q this way. Way too many possibilites to tell. Diet drugs, thyroid, diabetes, painkillers, blood pressure meds, antidepressants, on and on and on.... anything~ That side effect can be as common as headache and dizziness or drowsiness, etc - it is in the most common of most meds out there.

more details maybe?

Effexor. God, I was on that and would wake up in a horrible cold sweat two, three, sometimes four times a night. Terrible side effect. And effexor is not the only drug with this side effect, just the only one that has made me experience it.
