Humans are not unique, why should humans be treated so special, we are just an organism like every other living thing on this planet, but yet we are deemed as superior. When its quite possible we are the stupidest creature on the planet. By stupidest I'm referring to a creatures ability to ensure its survival. There are billions of other creatures that have been able to survive much longer than humans. Humans are destroying them selves and their ability to survive at an astonishing rate, so in the end humans will be but a bleak and sad scar on and below the surface of the earth as the many other superior organisms more past humans.

Humans don't only rely on instincts. They are capable of using methods that have been used before and even enhance them. Normal animals like bears would use sticks to get honey but as humans, we have found better ways to collect honey through technology. It is this advancement brought about by thought that makes us more unique then other living creatures.

I don't think we're all that unique. Merely arrogant.
Many creatures have opposable thumbs (oppossum), many have fingers (gliders and squirrels). Who's to say that other animals don't have self-awareness, or feelings.
As far as brain-size to body mass ratios, we have a fairly large ratio, but not near the highest. That would go to dolphins and squids.

well we are unique in the sense that we can walk on two's have fingers etc... I mean all animals talk just like we do, they don't understand us, we don't understand them, and we don't understand each other if we speak different languages. But in a unique way, each individual person has their own personality.
