The reason the majority is what is heard, versus the views of a few "elite", is because we have noone to tell us what "elite" is. Indeed, it sounds to me that this party is nothing but a push for plutocracy. There are many failed plutocracies littered throughout history.

I'll asume that said party doesn't have a branch in my country (UK). I wouldn't have joined anyway, due to the URL. It seems slightly paradoxical to me. I'm a liberal (to use an americanism.... over here we refer to left and right wing), but I'm also extremely pragmatic in my political thinking.
