Elvis, hands down. If it weren't for him, there wouldn't be any Beatles. Even they admitted they were fans of his and learned from him.
I was young enough to remember Elvis when he first appeared on tv. I was in junior high when the Beatles came to America. They may have caused a sensation, but nothing like Elvis.

i really have to say the beatles. elvis is cool and all that, but he was really out there for showmanship, in my opinion. the beatles were doing their thing for fun and often had a message (good or bad is up to you) plus, john lennon rocked!
